AIPEA MEDALS

AIPEA medals were established by the General Assembly of AIPEA to honour active clay scientists in recognition of their contributions to clay science.
A maximum of two Medals will be awarded at the occasion of the 16th International Clay Conference, and AIPEA will pay for the registration fee.
Candidates must be active clay scientists. Active shall be construed as a minimum of three publications in refereed and internationally recognized journals in the last two years. Candidates can be proposed by affiliated societies or by individual AIPEA members. In either case, the nomination must be supported by at least three individual AIPEA members.
Each application consists of:

  1. the curriculum vitae of the candidate;
  2. his/her list of publications of the last ten years;
  3. letters of support from at least three AIPEA members who propose the candidate.

AIPEA STUDENT TRAVEL FOUNDS

AIPEA will assign financial contributions to support students to travel to the 16th International Clay Conference. The rules are the following:

  1. The student submits an abstract and his/her curriculum vitae;
  2. This submission is supported in writing by his/her supervisor;
  3. Both the student and the supervisor are members of AIPEA;
  4. The student is under 35 years of age;
  5. The financial support can only be used to attend an International Clay Conference and its associated excursions, field trips and workshops;
  6. Student can only apply for one International Clay Conference;
  7. The amount of money can be up to $ 500 – per student.

Deadline for receipt of applications is January 1, 2017. Notice of decisions will be provided to the candidates by January 31, 2017.

AIPEA BRADLEY AWARD

The objective of the AIPEA Bradley Award is to offer financial assistance to the recipient to enable him or her to participate in an International Clay Conference for the purpose of presenting his or her paper. The award will be presented at next summer’s International Clay Conference in Spain.
Persons eligible for the award shall be under 35 years of age on the closing date for submission, and no restriction is placed on the sex or nationality of the candidate or the nature of his or her employment. Every application must be supported in writing by two members of AIPEA.
Candidates must submit an electronic copy, preferably in Microsoft Word, of a paper of approximately 4000 words in English on a topic relevant to one of the sessions at the Conference.
The paper should be written in a format acceptable for publication in international journals. Assessment will be based on scientific content only and the winning entry shall form the substance of a paper to be presented by the successful candidate at the 16th ICC.

AIPEA FELLOWS

AIPEA Fellowship was established to recognize and reward clay scientists with a life-long activity in promoting clay science and in supporting the clay science community through AIPEA or other bodies.
Nominations for AIPEA Fellows shall be submitted by a member of the Council, by a liaison officer, or by a national or regional society of clay scientists. The nomination may contain publications, supporting letters, and the nominees CV. Fellows must be members of AIPEA.
The successful nominee(s) will be invited to take part in the International Clay Conference and AIPEA will pay for the registration fee. A maximum of two Fellows shall be selected.

XVI ICC ASYS GRANTS

The Organizing Committee provides up to three fee grants to the AIPEA School for Young Scientist (COMPUTATIONAL MODELING IN CLAY MINERALOGY), with preference for natives of developing countries and students with low incomes.

XVI ICC STUDENT GRANTS

The Organizing Committee provides a limited number of grants to students (under 35 years of age) who are presenting papers or posters at this Conference, with preference for natives of developing countries and students with low incomes. The grants would include registration fees to the Conference and/or accommodation and breakfast (from 16th till 22th July 2017, six days) at “Colegio Mayor Garnata” (C/Arabial, 81, 18004 Granada; walking distance to Conference Centre: 24 min, 1.9 Km).

JOSE MARIA SERRATOSA AWARD

JOSE MARIA SERRATOSA Award offers financial assistance to the winner to attend the 16th International Clay Conference to be held in Granada (Spain).
The closing date for reception of manuscripts will be March 1st, 2017
AIM
José María Serratosa Award is an International award, sponsored and financially supported by Sociedad Española de Arcillas – SEA (Spanish Clay Society), to offer financial assistance to the recipient with the aim to enable him/her to participate in an 16th International Clay Conference for the purpose of presenting his/her paper.
RULES

  1. Candidates must submit an electronic copy, preferably a pdf file, of approximately 4000 words in English on a topic relevant to one of the sessions of the Meeting. The paper should be written in a format acceptable for international journals. Assessment will be on scientific content only and the winner will be expected to present his/her paper at the Meeting.
  2. The award consists of a honorarium of 1.000 Euros to contribute to the recipient to cover the expenses of the registration fee to the Meeting, travel and hotel expenses for attending the 16th International Clay Conference Meeting, and a certificate. The award will not be made if it is considered that candidates do not reach the required standard.
  3. Person eligible for the award must be under 35 years of age on the closing date for submissions. No restriction is placed on the sex or nationality of the candidate
  4. The award is incompatible with any other prize for the same paper. Therefore, the candidate declares that the content of the manuscript is original and has not been submitted and, in case of winning, will not be submitted, as candidate to any other prize.
  5. The selection committee shall consist of the President of AIPEA (Chair), three members nominated by the SEA, and the President of the Spanish Clay Society, who will act as Secretary.
  6. The attached form must be completed and returned to the secretary of the SEA ([email protected]) with each entry to arrive before the official closing date. The candidates must note that the deadline will be strictly observed. The paper must be in the hands of the selection committee at least three months before the Conference.
  7. The winning paper could be submitted for publication in a clay mineralogy journal.
