Invitation Letter

The Organizing Committee will be pleased to send an invitation letter upon request to the participants registered. Such a letter should only be intended as a help to get funds, not as a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support. Please send your request to the Conference Secretariat specifying your name, institution, postal address and fax number to which the invitation letter should be sent.
Please consult Italian diplomatic representatives in your Country.

Passport/Visa

Any foreign visitors wishing to enter the Italian Republic must have an Identity Card (UE citizens) or a valid passport (non-EU citizens). Someone may need a Visa before coming. Email info@amam-icam2017.org to get a VISA support letter but please consult your local passport authority or Italian diplomatic representatives in your Country about information they need. How to get to the Conference Centre

The Calané Conference Centre – Nova Yardinia venue is located near Castellaneta Marina, at 95 kilometres away from Bari. The Conference Centre is easily accessible from Bari Airport (the Meeting Point) by bus or car service provided by AMAM-ICAM 2017. You can also get Taranto from Bari by train and Calané Conference Centre by public taxi or private taxi car (distance: about 30 km). There are not public transport services from Bari Airport to Nova Yardinia.

Getting to Bari Airport

Arrival by Planes. Several airlines fly to Bari, including low cost companies, and a lot of daily flights from the two Italian hubs – Rome and Milan – reach this airport. Please visit the Airport web site for more information and book your flight early to get the ticket at the best price.

Arrival by Train/Bus

People who arrive in Bari from other Italian localities by train or bus (stop at or near the Railway Central Station (Stazione Bari Centrale)) can get to Karol Wojtyla Bari Airport by:
– Urban public bus (bus n. 16). The single ticket costs € 1.00 each. Travel time: 35-40 min. Tickets can be purchased in newspaper and tobacco kiosks.
– Airport Shuttle. The single ticket costs € 4.15 each. Travel time: 25-30 min. Tickets can be purchased from the driver.
– Railway (Treni Ferrotramviaria). The single ticket costs € 5.00 each. Travel time: 15 min. Tickets must be purchased on this website selecting the following options: Departure Station: Bari Centrale – Arrival Station: Bari Aeroporto.

Arrival by Boat

Bari is the destination for ferries incoming from the Greek port of Patra and Igoumenitsa. There are also ships from Bar (Montenegro), Dubrovnik (Croatia) and Durrës (Albania). Ferry operators are either Superfast Ferries, Blue Star Ferries, Azzurraline or Jadrolinija.
You can get to the Railway Central Station on the bus n. 20/ (take care: 20 strikethrough!). Urban bus tickets can be purchased in newspaper and tobacco kiosks (€1.00).

Getting to Nova Yardinia from Bari Airport

Conference Shuttle. A  shuttle service (by minibus or cars) will be provided by the AMAM-ICAM 2017 from Bari Airport to Nova Yardinia and vice versa. FOR BOOKING the transfer(s) you should email info@amam-icam2017.org arrival/departure time of your flights. The cost of the ticket is EUR 30 (one way) by minibus. Car transfer cost is EUR 100/car (max 3 passengers). The prices may change at anytime based on the taxes /fuel variation.
Shuttle departures on Sunday 4 (Bari Airport – Nova Yardinia): 12:15 – 15:15 – 17:15 – 19:45 – 24:00.
KEEP IN MIND: bring your voucher with you and give it to the operator. The voucher is your ticket!

Private taxi service

Renting a car

There is a very good highway from Bari Airport to Nova Yardinia. It will take you about one hour drive. The Nova Yardinia has large parking areas (free). This solution is suitable for the participants who feel like visiting the wonderful places surrounding the conference venue

BANKS-EXCHANGE
Italy’s official currency is the Euro. Banks are open weekdays from 8.30 to 13.30. Currency can be exchanged also at the Railway Central Station, at the airport and foreign exchange automatic points throughout the city. Most hotels, restaurants and shops accept major credit cards.

Voltage is 220V; two round pin plug.

SMOKING POLICY
Smoking is banned in all indoor public places and in all workplaces.
TIPPING
In bars and restaurants service charge (servizio) is included in the bill. Tipping is not mandatory but is welcomed.

VAT (value added tax; locally IVA) is normally included in the price of most goods and services. Generally the rate stands at 22% of the sale price.
