Electrifying CO₂-intensive processes such as brick drying requires efficient multiphysics models. Microwave-assisted drying couples electromagnetic fields with heat and moisture transport, where dielectric properties depend on temperature and moisture, creating strong nonlinearities and high computational costs. This study evaluates reduced coupling schemes and a physics-specific meshing strategy. Reduced coupling lowers computation time but struggles with extreme temperatures. The physics-specific mesh achieves a 25-fold speed-up while preserving accuracy, motivating future work on surrogate-enhanced coupling and adaptive meshing.
